Mother’s day candle stick
the idea of making something special for mother’s day, started to push myself a bit into a complex project, as I’ve started my master degree combining copper sheet, copper wire and using Epoxy resin made me made something realistic.
A COUPLE OF ROSE WHERE THE IDEA CAME FROM.
FIRST ROUGH SKETCH OF THE ROSE
Rose pattern
The rose pattern made with 5 petals that once molded and arranged together it makes sense.
The petal pattern
A set of 3 petals with different sizes large medium and small in copper sheet.
sheet COPPER, WIRE & stem
In order to make the stem strong to be able to hold a candle It needed to be copper wire 10G.
Pattern together along with a inner candle holder.
Breaking out the wire in order to get it soft, and cleaning off.
The stem has 5 wires twisted around to be resistant, each one has 10+ inches.
Soldering the 3 petals pattern from the bottom to top, it became a problem and had to headed up everything especially the stem from the bottom up however the petals that were initially soldered were falling off.
Three petals were added.
Epoxy resin
One more time experiencing with epoxy resin having it on green color i think it give the rose itself a natural look.
Green Resin added to color to get a natural look also covering the soldered leaves.
This is the final step where the Resin was added and the set of petals representing my mom’s kids.
Ready to lift it up, once cleaned off.
The process explained on the video.
